George Gerald "Jerry" Everett, Sr., age 74, of Biloxi went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 2021 in Gulfport surrounded by his family after fighting a courageous battle with Cancer.
Jerry was born on September 5, 1946 in St. Petersburg, FL. He moved to Biloxi as a teenager when his mother was relocated to Keesler while working for the American Red Cross. He graduated from Biloxi High School in 1965. After graduation he join the Marines and then returned home to attend the University of Southern Mississippi where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Education. He loved history and spent many years teaching it in the Biloxi public school system. He later followed his sister's footsteps and pursued a 20-year career in the film industry in Los Angeles and New Orleans working on some of the largest films produced in the south. Jerry loved fishing, watching the Saints play football and entertaining everyone with his great sense of humor. He was a loving father and friend to many and will be missed by all that knew him.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Marion Everett; father, James Howard; sister, Mary "Blue" Andre; and father-in-law, Wilfred J. "Bud" Delarosa. He is survived by his wife, Verna Everett; son, Gerald (Farris) Everett; daughter, Shane Everett; grandchildren, Camden Everett and Hudson Everett; and cousins, Charlotte Osborne and Henry Stephenson.
The family would like to give special thanks to Canon Hospice for their services and to Shane Dalgo and Keke Ray for their compassionate care during his illness.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Biloxi. Visitation will be held from 10:30am-12:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
