George Noel Howard of Biloxi, MS passed away on February 5, 2021, just a few days before his 88th birthday. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Suzanne Leggett Howard, with whom he celebrated 60 years of love and marriage. May their reunion be one of sweet celebration.
Though born in Glenwood, MD, Mr. Howard had been a long-time resident of Biloxi. As a 20-year veteran of the US Air Force, George proudly served his country from 1955 to 1975, serving three overseas tours, and will be buried with military honors. After his USAF retirement, he remained a diligent and dedicated employee, working in electronics for the nuclear power industry until retirement. At which time, he lived for 20 years in Palm Coast, Florida, before returning to Biloxi, MS.
George and Suzanne were faithful church members. While raising their family, they attended Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, Gulfport, MS. Later, they were members of Christ the King Anglican Church, in St. Augustine, FL, volunteering and serving in various positions. George rarely missed a service; he could be counted on for his persistent dedication and steadfast beliefs.
Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his beloved Suzanne, as well as his parents, Marvie Howard and Lillian Flohr, grandson, Christopher Wood, sister, Carrie Dell, and brother, Ronnie Howard. He is survived by a large family that loved him dearly. They include five children, Deborah Boozer (Mitch), Brian Howard, Scott Howard (Cindy), Mark Howard (Vicki) and Michael Howard (Angela). His 15 grandchildren are Scotty Cauthen (Marci), Melissa Gartman (Justin), Catherine Wood (Megan), Tara McGaha, Brie Hollinger (Jeremy), Mark David Howard (Amanda), Cody Calloway, Chad Howard (Tricia), Brian M. Howard, Jamie Wayne (Steven), Rachel D’Angelo (Micky), Kirsten Boozer (Jordan), Zachary Howard (Mary Katherine), Victoria Howard (Ryan), Kerianne Stribling (Sean), and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Pat Bunch, Joan Williams, Jerry Howard, and Denny Howard.
Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Ave., Biloxi, MS, will host the visitation at 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 11, 2021, followed by service at 1:00 PM and interment.
