George McDonald Morse of Gulfport, MS passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011. He was born in, 1952, in Gulfport, the first son of Anne and Stanford Morse, Jr. He was a graduate of Gulfport East High School, the University of Mississippi Law School and the University of Alabama, LLM. He was predeceased by his father, Stanford Morse, Jr., and sister, Millie Morse. He is survived by his mother, Anne Morse; two brothers, Stanford, III and Reilly; two daughters by his former wife, Betty Gardner Stuart, Michelle Brister and Meredith Billings; four grandchildren, Blake and Jack Brister and Bailey and Davis Billings. A lifelong sailor, he served as commodore of the Gulfport Yacht Club (1988) and in various capacities with the Gulf Ocean Racing Circuit and was a member of the Biloxi Yacht Club. George also was an enthusiastic supporter of Ole Miss, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a partner in the firm of White and Morse and later worked at Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District and Cassady and Associates.

The Memorial service will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour before the service. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, in Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
