George McGrevey

George McGrevey, 74, of Ocean Springs passed away on Friday, October 6, 2006. Mr. McGrevey was born in Derry, New Hampshire on April 27, 1932. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy of New Hampshire and of the University of Southern Mississippi. He joined the United States Air Force on April 23, 1952 and retired as a Chief Master Sargent on October 31, 1978 and was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor and Galantry in Vietnam. Mr. McGrevey was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel McGrevey and his wife of fifty years, Beatrice Hansen McGrevey. Survivors include his sons, Michael (Ada) McGrevey of Starkville and Dennis McGrevey; his daughters, Sharon (Billy) McCoy and Tricia (Phillip) Parker; a brother, Jim McGrevey of New Hampshire; grandchildren: Chris Welch, Matthew McCoy, Justin Parker, Kelsey McGrevey, Memphis McGrevey, Kyle McGrevey of Oxford and Mandy McGrevey of Decatur; a great-grandson, Austin Welch and his faithful companions, George and Mimi. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2006 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
