George Michael 'Mike" Hill

George Michael "Mike" Hill of Gulfport died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in Gulfport. Just shy of his 55th birthday, Mike departed from this earth after 35 days in I.C.U. fighting the Virus Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrom "ARDS" and is now in peace with no pain. Mike was born February 1, 1952, a native of Harrison County. He was a graduate of Harrison Central High School, Class of 1971 and was of the Methodist faith. His love of the outdoors consisted of hunting and fishing. He was a top notch welder by trade and a talented artist of wood craft. He also wrote and recorded songs and was a member of "Hit-n-Miss" Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Wade Hill; grandmothers, Henrietta Hill and Ethel Schanbacher; and grandfathers, George Hill and Ora Michael Schanbacher. He is survived by his faithful dog, Weasel; his mother Naomi Coleman; father, Calvin Coleman, Sr.; brothers, Richard Hill, Calvin Coleman, Jr., and David Lee Coleman; sisters Linda Huggard, Helen Merida, and Jean King. Visitation will be Thursday evening January 25, 2007 from 5 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. The funeral service is Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport. Vbiew and sign register book at www.bradfordokeefe.com
