Mr. George "Robert" Belton, age 68, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of the Fontainebleau Community.
Robert was an avid racecar fan, a shrimper and loved to hunt. He loved life on the Gulf Coast and being with his wife, family and friends. He retired from Ingall's Shipbuilding after 37 years of service as a welder.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Sarvas and Cornelia Belton and a brother, Sarvas "Buddy" Belton.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carolyn (Carol) Belton of Ocean Springs, MS, brother Emory (Billie) Belton of Gray, LA, sisters, Helen Pigford of Vancleave, MS, Marie (Lonnie) Parden of Tanner-Williams, Linda Duthu of Lockport, LA, Dianne (Hugh) Ogle of Ocean Springs, and Althea (Kevin) Trahan of Gautier, sister-in-law, Geneva Waltman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 6, 2012, from 6 pm until 8 pm, with a 7 pm Memorial Service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Belle Fountain Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 7900 Fountainbleau Rd., Ocean Springs, MS. 39564.
