George Warren Reed

Mr. George W. Reed, age 84, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Thursday, February 22, 2007, in Biloxi. Mr. Reed was born on December 31, 1922, in New York, New York, and had been a resident of Gulf Hills since 1972. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding as a test engineer and served as deacon and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs. He was also a current member of Elks Lodge #2501, a volunteer income tax assistant (AARP), a member of the Friends of the St. Martin Library, and did volunteer work for The Lord Is My Help and J.L. Scott Aquarium. Survivors include his wife, Emily M. Reed of Ocean Springs, three stepdaughters, Sandra Hugus of Promise City, IA., Bonnie Wood of Raleigh, N.C., and Louise Heim of Rochester, MN., and a stepson, (James) Ray Hugus, also of Raleigh, NC. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
