Gerald Ray "Jerry" Davis, age 81, of Vancleave, MS. passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in D'Iberville, MS.
Jerry was born in Seminary, MS. and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast for the past 35 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean Conflict and was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. Jerry retired from the Marketing Division of Continental Oil Company out of Houston, TX. He was owner and operator of Singing River Tire Center in Gautier and a member of First Baptist Church in Vancleave. He was an avid fisherman and just loved being outdoors. Jerry was devoted to his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virgie Sanderson, father, Rosia R Davis, Sr., and son-in-law, Thomas Madden.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Annette Wells Davis, daughters, Ramona Moorehead and her husband Chuck, and Alisa Madden, son, Gerald Mark Davis, grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Jones, Melissa ( Joseph) Chambers, and Sarah Grace Moorehead, great-grandchildren, Cole Jones, Emma Grace Jones, Addison Jones, Anneleigh Grace Chambers and Riley Chambers, sister, Virginia Bounds, brother: R.R. "Jack" (Alice) Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 17, 2011, from 10 am until 11 am, with an 11 am church service, all at the First Baptist Church of Vancleave. Burial will follow in McLain Cemetery in McLain, MS.
The Vancleave Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
