Gerald Henry Samies

Gerald H. Samies “Jerry”, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. 

Jerry passed away on the Mississippi Gulf Coast that he called home, and where he had a career of being an IT Support Specialist for a number of casinos.

He was born on October 4, 1961, in Minot, North Dakota, beginning the lifelong role of being a military brat. In 1973, this led Jerry, and his family, to Woomera, South Australia, where he created memories and friendships he would forever treasure. He and his family then returned to Ocean Springs, where he reconnected with old friends, and made many new ones. After graduating from Ocean Springs High School, Jerry attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where he served as President of his fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega. After a pause in his studies, Jerry, like his father and sister, graduated from U.S.M.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Gerald D. Samies; and a daughter, Victoria M. Samies. Survivors include his loving daughter, Christina Samies; mother, Maria Samies; sister, Roxanne Samies (Rene); a nephew, Brandon Samies (Kelli); his great nephew, Julien Samies; his aunt, Suzie Samies; and his cousins.

There will be a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
