Gerald Steven Lingel

Gerald S. Lingel, 60, formerly of Hudson, OH died peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at his home in Vancleave. He was the son of Joe(deceased) and Josephine Lingel of Brimfield, OH. Jerry retired from his occupation as a project manager in manufacturing and moved to the Harry Ramsay homestead in 2002. While working part-time at Imperial Palace, he spent most of his time bringing the old homestead back to its former beauty. In addition to the banks of azaleas on Highway 57, he also nurtured the wild azaleas, camellias and blueberries. Even his long courageous battle with ALS/Lou Gherig's disease couldn't stop him until lately. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Ramsay LeBlanc Lingel of Vancleave; he leaves his children, Jeff Lingel (Melissa), Kim Dornack (Greg) in Ohio and Trey (Melissa), Chris (Michelle) and Pierre LeBlanc of LA and TX. He has four beautiful granddaughters, Hannah and Sydney Lingel and Michaela and Madison Dornack and one precious grandson, Zane Pierre LeBlanc in Texas. In Ohio, he leaves his brother and two sisters: Larry (Pat), Liz (Kenny), and Mary Jo ( Dick) along with much loved Haasz cousins and many good golfing buddies in the Hudson Golf Association. In LA/MS he leaves sisters-in law, Margie Burroughs and Emmy Lorusso; Rudy LeBlanc and other close friends. The family asks that any memorials be sent to the MDA ALS Research, 1675 Lakeland Drive #201, Jackson, MS, 39216, www.mdausa.org.
