Gloria Halat

Mrs. Gloria Viator Halat of Biloxi, MS passed away April 9, 2010 in Ocean Springs, MS. Gloria was born and raised in New Iberia LA but always enjoyed spending her summers in Biloxi with relatives beginning when she was a teenager. Biloxi is where she met and married her husband Mike whom she was married to for 45 years. Gloria was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Biloxi and she also attended Our Lady of Fatima in recent years. She was employed with the Biloxi VA in the Dental Clinic for eighteen years until her retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Halat. Surviving are her three children, Sandy Wells and husband Earl “Buddy” Wells, of Ocean Springs MS, Richard Romero of Beaumont TX and Nancy Halat Mumley and husband Mark of Biloxi. She is also survived by 2 grandsons, Richard Joseph “Joe” Romero, Christopher Romero and two step-grand daughters, Leann and Megan Mumley. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Biloxi with entombment following in Biloxi City Cemetery. Visitation will be begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Cathedral and continue until service time. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
