Gordon Edward Long

Gordon Edward Long, age 76, of Gulfport passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021. Gordy was born in Gulfport and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Gordy returned to Gulfport and began his career at Hancock Bank. He later went to Regions Bank (formerly Deposit Guaranty) where he was branch manager until his retirement. Gordy was a lifelong member of St. Peters by the Sea Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry. He was past commodore of the Gulfport Yacht Club as well as past president of the Century Club, Gulf Coast Ole Miss Alumni Association and Gulfport Gridiron Club. Gordy loved people and people loved him. He was an avid Ole Miss fan and also enjoyed being on the water. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and family. Gordy was preceded in death by his parents, C.P. Long, Jr. and Enid Rowland Long; son, Todd Moore; brothers, Tom Long and Charles Long; and niece, Alison Roberts. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dona Randolph Long; niece, Enid Machen; and nephew, Tom Long. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Peters by the Sea Episcopal Church, St. Jude, the Humane Society, or a charity of one’s choice. A Christian memorial service will be held at a later date. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Long family.
