Grace Walker Pfister, 97, of Pass Christian died Saturday, February 5, 2005 in Pass Christian. Mrs. Pfister was born in Bowie, LA and had been a resident of Pass Christian since 1960. She attended Louisiana State Normal Teacher's College and was a school teacher and later a bookkeeper. Mrs. Pfister was a founding member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and taught the Bible Study at the church and in homes and also in her own home until the age of 93. She was a volunteer at Miramar Nursing Lodge in Pass Christian for fifteen years where she lead a prayer group and played the guitar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Pfister. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Giles and her husband, Richard of Pass Christian; three sons, Edward Pfister, Jr. and his wife, Lois Ann of Madison, VA, Kenneth Pfister and his wife, Sandy of Memphis, TN, and Richard Pfister and his wife, Paulette of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Dorothy Williams of Pensacola, FL; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Pass Christian where friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery in Pass Christian. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd Guatemala Education Fund, 5169 Espy Avenue, Pass Christian, MS 39571. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
