Gregory D. Broussard, 61, of D’Iberville, MS passed away on January 28, 2016 from a short battle with cancer.
Greg was born in Biloxi and raised on the “point”. He graduated from Biloxi High School in 1972, and attended the Police Academy in Jackson. After years of working for the Biloxi Police Department, Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and as a County Patrolman, Greg left law enforcement and started working for Harrison County Road Department as an assistant Road Manager. He worked briefly for Seymour Engineering before being diagnosed with MS. Before being diagnosed, Greg and Karen enjoyed fishing, playing golf and working on projects around the house.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Wesley Broussard, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Alford Broussard; his sons, Chad (April) Broussard and Steven Broussard; three beautiful grandchildren: Paige, Cole and Sophie; his brother, Wesley (Kay) Broussard, Jr.; niece, Amy (Todd) Dye and their children: Hayley and Katie; and his nephew, Aaron Broussard.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ocean Springs Hospital for their great care and compassion. We’ll never forget your kindness.
Services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11:00am at Howard Avenue Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial to follow at Southern Memorial Park.
