Mr. Guy Vaughn McMillan, age 79, of Vancleave, MS., passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mr. McMillan was born in Vancleave, MS. where he remained a lifelong resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in 1984. He was a lifelong member and deacon of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now known as Community of Christ Church. Mr. McMillan was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, teacher and mentor. He was known for his generosity and words of wisdom. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Vaughn McMillan, parents, Walter and Marie McMillan, and brothers, J.W. McMillan, Curtis McMillan, Cecil McMillan, Donald McMillan, Woody McMillan and Earl McMillan. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shirley Balius McMillan, three sons, Scott McMillan, Stephen (Stefanie) McMillan and Greg (Kelly) McMillan, a sister, Margaret Kucifer, three brothers, Homer McMillan, Otis McMillan and Larry McMillan, seven grandchildren, Amber (Andrew) Weber, Christopher, Baleigh, Molly, Lance, Carter and Garrison, four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Morgan, Emma and Ryan, and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, from 12:30 pm until 2 pm, with a 2 pm church service, all at the Community of Christ Church in Vancleave, Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS. 39507. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
