Harold Manuel

Harold Edward Manuel, Sr., age 85 of Ocean Springs, MS., died Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Mr. Manuel was a native of Biloxi and a resident of Ocean Springs for the past fifty-two years. He was a Naval veteran of WWII and worked in the construction industry all of his life. Mr. Manuel was a member of Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Aline Manuel; and by his wife of fifty-seven years, Pauline Manuel; also by his four brothers, Henry, Oliver, Sherwood and Glen Manuel. Survivors include two children, Harold "Budd" Manuel, Jr. and wife Sharon; and Carolyn Gail Robertson and husband, Robert, of Woodstock, GA; four grandchildren, Harold "Hal" Manuel, III and wife, Debra, of Katy, TX; Bryan Manuel and wife Tracy, of Perrysburg, OH; Glenn Robertson and wife Hilary, of Toney, AL; and Kelly Schlich and husband, Greg, of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Elaina, Juliana, Isabella, Emma and Harold "Drew" Manuel. He is also survived by his five sisters, Ila Mae Bertucci, of Little Elm TX, Lurline Battaya, of D'Iberville, MS, Ellen (Bob) Harrison, of Livermore, CA, Emily (Roy) Gilmore, of Gulfport, MS and Aline (Henry) Humphrey, of Latimer, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs where friends may visit one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. We've lost another of "The Greatest Generation."
