Harold Andrew Schaefer, age 74 passed away October 16, 2019. Harry, as he was known to many, was a long-time resident of Murfreesboro, TN. He worked for many years for the
Nissan plant in Smyrna which ended his 36 year career working in the automotive industry.
Later in life, he joined his wife in bettering the lives of children when they opened Jubilee
Education. Harry could be seen at any time helping out in any way that he could. He was an
elder at Joywood Presbyterian Church, but in recent years had been attending Christian Life
Church. He was very active with Journey Home and The Coldest Nights Project.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Schaefer and Eileen Fetzer; sister,
Barbara McHugh; and nephew Michael Wood. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years
Patricia Wiser Schaefer; children Cheri (Bruce) Turner, Robert (Amber) Schaefer, Ashley
(Brad) Fleming, and Chris (Ashley) Cromwell; grandchildren, Landon (Tarah) Fleming,
Brayden Fleming, Grayson Fleming, Cole Turner, and Chase Turner; great-grandchildren,
Griffin Fleming and Miles Fleming; brother, Bill (Beverly) McHugh, sister, Joan Harrod, and
several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Christian Life Church in Murfreesboro on Monday,
October 28th. Visitation will be from 5-6 with the service from 6-7. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to Jubilee Education in Harry’s honor.
