Harold T. "Marty" Martin

Mr. Harold T. "Marty" Martin, age 75, of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011, in Ocean Springs. Marty had been a resident of Ocean Springs for the past 35 years. He retired from the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. He was formerly employed with Ingalls Shipbuilding and loved country music. He sang with several bands while in the Navy and locally. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Martin, mother, Marietta Martin, father, Edward Martin, stepmother, Lillie Martin, sister, Peggy Tibwell and brothers, Levi Odom and Weldon Oldham. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Martin, two sons, Chris A. (Kim) Martin and Steven G. (Rosie) Riel, two sisters, Dorothy Hodge and Judith Baggett, three brothers, James Martin, Richard Martin and Roy Oldham, four grandchildren, Priscilla Grimmett, Chris Michael Martin, Jason Culbreath and Christina Griffin, six great-grandchildren, Mika Martin, Leeya Grimmett, Julia Griffin, Nathan Griffin, Annie Culbreath and Austin Culbreath, and six stepchildren, Michael Flory, Diane Cothran, Mark Flory, John Flory, Cheryl Flory and Sandra Millen. Visitation will be on Friday, January 7, 2011, from 10 am until 12 noon, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
