Harry Lynn Husband

Harry Lynn Husband, 55, passed away after having a severe stroke in March. He was a heart transplant survivor for the past 13 years. He was the owner of Husband Electric Heating and Air prior to the heart transpalnt. He was a 1970 graduate of Long Beach High School and upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served four years active duty in many areas around the world. After returning home from the Navy, he opened Husband Electric Heating and Air for 18 years until he became sick and received a heart transplant from University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was a heart transplant survivor for 13 years. He was known as "Mr. Harry" at Rainbow Daycare in Long Beach where he would go to spend time and have fun with the children. He was also a coach for little league baseball, a member of the Long Beach High Gridiron Club, and the Long Beach High Band Boosters. He was very active after Katrina helping with the clean up and rebuilding to provide a home for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Earnestine Husband; his youngest brother, Jimbo Husband; sister-in-law, Amelia Gamble; and mother-in-law, Mary Maccaro. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Deborah Husband of Long Beach; a daughter, Jody Husband and three sons, Harry J. Husband, Junior Husband, and Hayden Husband, all of Long Beach; two sisters, Diane Goodman and husband, Marty of Long Beach and Vickie Paige of Lizana; a brother, Larry Husband of Kiln; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Gardner and brother-in-law, Daniel Gardner; his godchild Shelley Husband; numerous nieces and nephews; and his childhood friend Terry "Tiny" Young of Long Beach. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 13, 2007 from 6 until 9:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be Monday, May 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Hueston Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
