Harvey Robert Wingate

Harvey Robert Wingate, age, 73, of Bay St. Louis, died Monday, May 9, 2011 in Bay St. Louis. He was born in Newellton, LA and had been a resident of Bay St. Louis since 1992 where he was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He was a member of Pass Christian Isles Golf Club. He previously served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Nortwestern University in Louisiana where he played football. He was a former head football coach at East Jefferson High School in Metairie. Mr. Wingate was a retired homebuilder and former owner of Scotty's Dry Cleaners in Bay St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Reeve Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Kay Wingate of Bay St. Louis; a daughter, Kelley Levy (Aaron) of Pass Christian; a son, Mark Wingate (Lori) of Slidell, LA; his mother, Irene Lewis of Kenner, LA; and three grandchildren, Meyer Levy Kyle Roubal, and Lindsey Wingate. The memorial service will be held Friday, May 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Bay St. Louis where friends may visit beginning at 12 noon.
