Hazel E. "Kitty" Dodds, of Gulfport died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Dixie White House Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born on October 10, 1937 in Royal Oak, Michigan.
In October of 1968 Hazel decided to move south and make her home in Florida and Mississippi.
She was a member of New Haven Methodist Church. She was a graduate of New Haven High School and she worked in New Haven Savings Bank. Hazel retired from the banking business and as a Sarah Coventry representative.
Upon retirement she enjoyed her mobile home and caring for the flowers inside and outside, and the many visits from her friends. Her favorite flower was the magnolia. Unable to care for herself and her home due to illness, she went to the nursing home. When able she attended Bethel Lutheran Church in Biloxi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Helen Dodds.
Hazel is survived by sisters, Doris V. Dodds and Edith M. Dodds, both of Michigan and many cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, September 24, 2010 from 2 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service is Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private burial will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
