Helen Ramsey Carver, age 85, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 in New Orleans, LA.
She was born November 14, 1929 in Bay St. Louis to her parents Alva P. Ramsey and Cecile Johnston Ramsey of Gulfport, MS who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Herbert Henry Carver of Bay St. Louis and her son, Robert Alva “Bobby” Carver.
She worked at the Brake Tag Station, the juvenile court system and CAO Office in New Orleans prior to her retirement in 1993. In her retirement she enjoyed living in her home close to the beach in Gulfport.
She was a graduate of Warren Eastern and later the University of New Orleans where her favorite class was in history taught by Stephen Ambrose.
Helen is survived by her son, Herbert ‘Herbie” Henry Carver, Jr.; and daughter, Denise Bilello; her grandchildren, Cindy Vincent, Chris (Nicole) Carver, Keith Bilello, Tracie Bilello (Jeff) Bourque; and four great grandchildren .
In her youth Helen love to ride motorcycles with her husband. Her most recent favorite pastimes included playing cards and playing on her IPad, and she was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees. She lived a full life and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity BVM Cathedral in Biloxi where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Southern Memorial Park, Biloxi.
