Mrs. Helen Williams Cook, 87, of Biloxi, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at home surrounded by family and friends.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi, MS, growing up in “Possum Neck”. Mrs. Cook was a member of Our Lady of Fatima and ADK Sorority. She is a graduate of Biloxi High School. Mrs. Cook was the owner of Cook’s Fine Carter’s in Biloxi for 30 years and was well known for her famous Bread Pudding and Crabmeat Dip.
Mrs. Cook is preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life for 65 years, John O. Cook; parents, William and Luticia Williams; daughters, Sylvia Cook and Elizabeth “Beth” Cook; sisters, Nell, Wilda, Iona and Lillie; grandson, Johnny Cook; and great-granddaughter, Samantha Crowell.
She is survived by daughters, Luticia Ann Cook and Dawn Cook; sons, John O. (Sandy) Cook, III, Ronnie (Jan) Cook and Sam Cook; brother, Henry “Buddy” Williams; grandchildren, Lisa Sibert, Kelly Marie, John Williams, Stacey Sapet, Laura Perdue, Brian Williams, Samantha Cook and Sean Cook; and great-grandchildren, Brianna, Karley, Ashlei, Nicole, Andrew, Jr., Madison, Brystol, Elizabeth, Landon, Adalynn, Caley and Natalie; one great-granddaughter due in August; and a very special family friend, Sharon (Alan) Skewes.
Visitation will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Cook will lie in-state at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
