Helen Gery Vickery

Helen Gery Vickery, 86, of Gulfport, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 in Gulfport. Mrs. Vickery was born in Montgomery County, Indiana and had been a resident of Gulfport for over sixty years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gulfport and previously taught at East Ward Elementary School, Gulfport. She was a graduate of Gulf Park College and Indiana University. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Society and Gulfport Yacht Club, a former member of Memorial Hospital Medical Auxillary and past president of Merry Maskers Carnival Association of Gulfport. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George Willis Vickery. Mrs. Vickery is survived by two sons, George W. Vickery, Jr. and wife, Carol of Panama City, Florida and G. B. "Vick" Vickery and wife Karen of Gulfport; a nephew, Gery Marmaduke of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren, Ashley Jones, George Vickery, III, Jennifer Rider, Troy Vickery, Drew Pridgen, and Rebecca Pridgen; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulport. The funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel where friends may visit from 1 p.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport. Box 1810, Gulfport, MS 39502 or the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1214 24th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
