Helen Parden Fairley, 82, born December 30, 1924 in Silas, Alabama, to Charlie and Eva Edwards Parden. She died November 24, 2007 at her home in Gulf Hills, Ocean Springs, MS.
Helen married Willie D. (Bill) Fairley, on January 11, 1942. She grew up in George County and attended school therein. She attended school at all three Mississippi Universities, graduating from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors, Masters, and Advanced Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She taught school in Itawamba County, Starkville Municipal School District and Vicksburg Municipal. During the last few years of her career she was the Supervisor of Elementary Reading in the Vicksburg System.
Survivors include Dr. W.D. Fairley, her husband of almost 66 years; three daughters, Nell F. (Elwin B.) Cropp, Mobile, AL, Patricia F. (Dr. William B.C.) Lobrano, Ocean Springs, MS, Donna F. (James D.) Huebsch, Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, Julie C. (Robert P.) Simon, Cori Rigsby, Michael Cropp, Kerri Rigsby, Kimberly Huebsch. She is also survived by five sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Wednesday, November 28, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Service will be at 12:00 p.m. Both will take place at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Interment will follow in the Crestlawn Cemetery.
