Helen Rushin

Helen Grace Henry Rushin celebrated her final victory Thursday, February 14, 2008, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born October 27, 1909, Ms. Rushin lived in many places but called Ocean Springs, Mississippi home. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she touched many lives in her long journey home and those who knew her will always remember her loving smile and gentle eyes and kind heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Rushin, her father and mother: H.H. and Isabelle Henry, a brother: H.H. Henry II, a sister: Lillian Poer and a brother who died as a child. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: H. Carlton and Sandra Rushin of Birmingham, Alabama and Tom and Margo Rushin of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Carlton B. Rushin and his wife Kristen and Will W. Rushin – all of Birmingham, Alabama as well as T. Raines and Jessica Rushin and Noel Rushin – all of Houston, Texas and two great grandchildren: Caleb and Grace Rushin of Birmingham, Alabama. A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS, at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18th, 2008. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to The Lord Is My Help, Ocean Springs, MS. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
