Helen Marie Smith

Helen Marie Smith, age 83, of Long Beach died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Gulfport. She was born June 6, 1932 in Middletown, New York. She was a Navy spouse for 33 years and she and her husband retired on the Gulf Coast. She was a longtime usher at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach and was a member of Pass Christian Isles Woman’s Golf Association. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Captain Edward G. Smith; and her parents, Timothy and Mary Mulqueen. She is survived by daughter, Kathleen M. McLuckie and son-in-law, Mason McLuckie of Long Beach; son, Kevin A. Smith and daughter-in-law, Stephanie D. Smith of Wilmington, NC; son, Michael C. Smith and daughter-in-law, Ginger M. Smith of Houston, TX; daughter, Lynn A. Necaise and son-in-law, John P. Necaise of Pass Christian; a brother, Dean Mulqueen of Middletown, NY; grandchildren, Karen McLuckie, Christopher McLuckie, Anthony Smith, Mark Smith, Ryan Necaise, Tyler Necaise, Sean Adams, Aaron Adams. The Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach where friends may visit beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to St. Thomas Catholic Church, P.O.
