Mrs. Helen Wilder Skelton, 77, of Biloxi, MS, died Friday, November 13, 2009, at Biloxi Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Skelton was born September 29, 1932, in Biloxi. She was the daughter of Benjamin David Wilder and Irma Daniels Wilder. Members of her family came to Biloxi in the 1800s, and she was a resident of Biloxi all her life. Graduating from Biloxi High School in 1950, she held the position of credit manager of W. V. Joyce and Company for approximately seven years. Later she was employed by Piltz, Williams, LaRosa and Company in Ocean Springs. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Biloxi, the Gulf Coast Symphony Guild, and the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art. Earlier she had been active in other organizations in community life, including Billikens, Les Masque and Gulf Coast Carnival Association and Altrusa Club of Biloxi. Mrs. Skelton is survived by her husband of 53 years, Zan L. Skelton; sons, Daniel Wilder (Terri) Skelton of Metairie, LA, and John Logan (Lisa) Skelton of Ann Arbor, MI; and two grandchildren, John Charles Skelton of Metairie, and Alyssa May Skelton of Ann Arbor, Memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will be private at Biloxi City Cemetery.
