Henry Plunk

Retired USAF Major Henry Porter Plunk, age 83, of Vancleave, MS, died Monday, March 13, 2006, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Plunk was a resident of the coast since 1967. He served during WWII as a fighter pilot in the European Theater. He later retired from civil service at the Naval base in Gulfport. He was a member of the Great Southern Club Golf Club and was an avid golfer. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Mr. Plunk was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Myrtle Barber Plunk, and a sister, Janis Plunk Paul. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Dees Plunk of Vancleave, MS, two daughters, Betty McCarroll of Long Beach, MS, and Oney (Joel) Reynolds of San Antonio, TX, son, Daryl Plunk of Alexandria, VA, three sisters, Bernice Banks of Canton, GA, Helen Summers of Selmer, TN, and Barbara Robinson of Bethel Springs, TN, two brothers, Dr. Leonard Plunk of Athens, AL, and William G. Plunk of Satellite Beach, FL, and six grandchildren, Samuel Porter McCarroll, Mollie McCarroll, Amy Plunk, Ian Plunk, Chase Reynolds, and Taylor Reynolds.
