Henry Earl Tanner

Mr. Henry Earl Tanner, age 77, of Vancleave, MS passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021. Mr. Tanner was born on August 14, 1943 in Vancleave, MS. He attended Vancleave High School and MGCCC, Perkinston Campus. He served in the United States Navy from 1961-1963 and worked as a Power House Operator at International Paper Co. of 32 years. He was truly a man of God and loved serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He had love for his church, Vancleave RLDS, and loved to tell everyone about it and the Lord. He loved his family, friends and his country with all of his heart. He was the best husband, daddy, father-in-law, Paw-Paw and Pop. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. We know you are home now, and we’ll see you again someday. Mr. Tanner is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Roosevelt Tanner and Ada Goff Tanner; and by his siblings, Roy Tanner, Ellis Olsen, Clyte Calton, Pearl Noble and Louis Olsen. Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Emma Jean Tanner; children, Rodney Tanner (Benta), Wesley Tanner (Alexandria) and Ada Leis (Henry); grandchildren, Hunter Tanner, Ashtin Tanner, Colton Celedon, Justin Leis, Hayden Cauley, Brandon Leis, Gracyn Cauley and Presley Tanner; siblings, Carl Tanner, Charley Tanner, Jimmy “Jughead” Tanner and Zennie George; and numerous nieces and nephews that he dearly loved. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Light and his nurse, Natasha Owen. Funeral Service will be held at Vancleave Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 1pm. Family and friends are invited to visit 11am-1pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include: Colton Celedon, Justin Leis, Brandon Leis, Hunter Tanner, Ashtin Tanner, Hayden Cauley and Jeff Ritchie.
