Holly Alene Carson

Holly Alene Carson, age 87, passed away March 26, 2008 in Biloxi, MS at Keesler Medical Center. She was born in Pickens, MS. Holly served her country as a flight nurse during WW II and was awarded the following medals for her distinguished service: Air Medal, National Defense Medal, WW II Victory Medal and the Asian Pacific Campaign Medal. Holly moved to the coast with her family in 1965 and during the 70's enjoyed running her own catering service. Holly was an avid bridge player and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs. Holly was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Holly was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carson; her sisters, Cresta Marler, Mary Hemphill, Eunice Love and Pearl Langston; her brothers, Curtis Holleman, Otis Holleman, Alton Holleman and Lee Holleman. She is survived by her sisters, Lorene Utz and Olivia Williams; brothers, Henry Holleman and HW Holleman; children, Robert and Melody Carson of Biloxi, MS, Holly Sumler of Atlanta, GA, Jerry and Cecilia Carson of Olney, MD, and Mike and Olivia Carson of Copeville, TX; grandchildren, Lauren Williams, Bobby Carson, Shayne Carson, James Sumler, Beth Sumler, Mika Carson, Ciara Carson, Jere Carson, and Luiza Carson; nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes where friends may call from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with a memorial service beginning at 12:00 pm.
