Hortense Felts "Tense" McKinney

Hortense Felts "Tense" McKinney, 87, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006 in Ocean Springs, where she was a resident for 45 years. Mimi will long be remembered for her giving heart, sweet smile, and the twinkle in her eyes for all those she loved. She worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding for seven years before retiring in 1968, after a full career as an executive secretary with several other companies. She was a member of Woodhaven Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. Tense was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles L. McKinney; her daughter, Jeannette M. Jones; her twin brother, Clay Horton Felts; sisters, Bertie Felts Hinton and Hazel Felts Hinton; and brother, Andrew Paul Felts. Survivors include her granddaughter, Gayle A. Manning, Ocean Springs; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, David and Angela Anderson, Hattiesburg; and two great-grandsons, Jason and Joshua Manning, both of Ocean Springs. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Ulmer officiating. Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
