Howard Earl Monk Sr.
Mr. Howard Earl Monk, Sr., 71, of D'Iberville, died Thursday, September 15, 2005, in D'Iberville.
Mr. Monk was a native and lifelong resident of D'Iberville. He was an avid fisherman and supplied mullet for many charity fish fries. He is also remembered for playing sports over the years, especially softball. To many he was legend in that sport. He was well known for his generosity and was a man of his word.
Mr. Monk was preceded in death by his son, Pete Aceveda; his parents, R.E. and Maybelle Monk; a sister, Betty L. Peague; and three brothers, Wayne Monk, Robert Emory Monk and Joseph Anthony Monk.
Mr. Monk is survived by a daughter, Donna Densford and her husband Paul of Gulfport; six sons, Howard Monk Jr. of Woolmarket, Paul Aceveda of Biloxi, Harland Monk and Jacob Monk of D'Iberville, Robert Monk and Jason Monk of Gulfport; four sisters, Marie Vereker of Biloxi, Mary Vuyovich, Eva Fountain and Elaine Lazenby of D'Iberville; four brothers, W.J. Monk of Biloxi, Jimmy Monk of Saucier, Roy Monk of Gulfport and Ronnie Monk of Ocean Springs; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Lighthouse Church of God on Popp's Ferry Road. Friends may visit from 12:00 until 2:00 pm before service time. Burial to follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
