Howard Ely

Mr. Howard Ely, age 68, of Vancleave, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008 in Vancleave. Howard was a lifelong resident of Vancleave. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who spent his spare time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all. Mr. Ely was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Ely, Sr. and Celeste Irwin; sisters, Lillie Bang, Margie Davis, Harriett Irwin and Ethel Davis; brothers, Johnny and Joe Ely along with two grandchildren, Hayden and Hannah Ely. Survivors include his wife of thirty five years, Leann Ely of Vancleave; daughters, Missy (Troy) Ely and Laurie (Chris) Babineaux all of Vancleave; sons, Glen (Lura) Ely, Jason (Sabrina) Ely and Devin Ely all of Vancleave; sisters, Catherine Ely and Frances Brown both of Vancleave; brothers, Jimmy Ely of Vancleave and Rufus Ely, Jr. of Hurley; seven grandchildren, Ashlie Ely, Sarah Babineaux, Abigail Ely, Ethan Babineaux, Shirley Jo Ely, Ashten Ely and Jaycie Ely along with a handful of nieces, nephews, many friends and loved ones. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2008 in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment to follow at Beulah Cemetery in Vancleave.
