Howard Spencer Jackson, known as Spencer, passed away at his home in Biloxi on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at the age of 76. Spencer was born in Nashville, TN to Howard Roy Jackson Jr. and Virginia Hicks Jackson. He graduated from the University of Arkansas and had an honorary Doctorate of Theology from Cambridge, England. He was a member at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. He frequently participated in the Episcopal Cursillo and was a devout man of God. He loved music, especially Christian music. He also enjoyed cheering on Arkansas in any sporting events and collecting stamps which was a passion passed on from his father. Spencer was preceded by both of his parents; by his second wife, Sharon Barron Jackson; and by his stepson, Brandon Burchfield.

Spencer is survived by his wife, Margaret (Nicki) Jackson; son, Spencer Graham; daughter, Amy Slagle Sellars; stepson, Chad Dickey (Kelly); and stepdaughter, Maretta Jeffrey (Jessi). He also leaves behind 6 grandsons; 1 step grandson; 4 step-granddaughters; his siblings, Ann Lewis (Mark), Peggy Neese (Randy), Lee Etheridge (Shenlih); and his previous wife, Jean LaPrade.

A graveside service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs, Arkansas on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 1 pm. Any donations made in his memory should be referred to the Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi, MS. Special thanks to the East Biloxi Senior Center and ECW of the Redeemer Episcopal Church for their help and support over the years.
