Hoyle A. Byrd, Jr.

Hoyle Albert Byrd, Jr, age 77, beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 26, 2023 in Moss Point, Mississippi after a lengthy illness. Hoyle was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on June 4, 1946 to Hoyle Albert Byrd, Sr and Ernestine Norris Byrd of Lumberton, Mississippi.

Hoyle grew up in Lumberton and graduated from Lumberton High School. He attended Tulane University and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He lived most of his adult life in Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana where he was a restaurateur.  Hoyle was a friend to all, and always ready to pass a good time!

He is predeceased by his parents, brother-in-law Lee O. Taylor, Jr, and nephew Lee Alan Taylor.

Hoyle is survived by two sisters, Beverly Byrd Taylor of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Melanie Byrd Landrum (John) of Biloxi, Mississippi. He was dearly loved by his four nieces and nephews, six grandnieces and grandnephews, and two great grandnephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
