Hoyte Chesley Johnson

Hoyte Chesley Johnson, 69, passed away on June 6, 2008. He leaves his loving wife, Billie, his daughter, Sheila Dodson (Mark) and son, Michael Hoyte Johnson. He leaves four precious grandchildren: Bianca & Chelsea Dodson and Matthew Lavette and Brooklyn Johnson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Marie Johnson. He will be greatly missed by his brothers: Buck (Julia) and B. J. Johnson and his sisters: Doris (Rob) Manuel and LouAnn (Bob) Powell, and brother in-law John (Meg) Busby, as well as many nieces and nephews. Hoyte was a long-time homebuilder/designer and built many churches in the area. He was a former member of the Gulfport Planning Commission, MS Home Builders and the Gulf Coast Realtors Association. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 2 p.m.
