Hugh Beverly "Bev Anderson passed away peacefully at Driftwood Nursing Home in Gulfport, MS on January 30, 2022 after a brief illness.

Bev. a lifelong resident, was born in Gulfport on August 15, 1942 to Earle Reeves Anderson and Robert Alexander Anderson, Sr.  He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as two brothers, Robert Alexander Anderson Jr. of Covington, LA and Patrick Morgan Anderson of Gulfport.  He is survived by his sisters, Irma Elizabeth Anderson Knight of Jackson and Sylvia Anderson Anderson of Hattiesburg, MS along with his nieces and nephews Sharon Anderson Weems and John Wilson Anderson, Jr. both of Hattiesburg, Alexandra Anderson Bower, Beverly Hills, CA, Christopher Freeman, Fulton, MS, Conrad Anderson, Biloxi, MS, Alex Anderson, Santa Monica, CA, Hollie Anderson Dupuy, Flowood, MS, Julie Anderson Stroble, Covington, LA, Elizabeth Anderson Denenea, Mer Rouge, LA and Robert Alexander Anderson, III of Gulfport.

Prior to retirement, Bev was active in the real estate business and spent his entire life with a love of music which he learned from his mother who taught piano in Gulfport for sixty years.  Throughout his life, Bev played piano in some of the coasts most popular dance bands as well as entertaining at private clubs and parties.  He was considered a "crooner" and favored the "great American songbook"

Bev was an avid history buff as well as a dedicated genealogist and spent many hours researching family histories and enjoyed sharing the info with family.  As a Coastian, he was especially proud to be descended from Valentin Dosette Richard, third great grandfather, who established the first Spanish Land Grant in Biloxi in 1802.  He will be buried February 7 at 1:00 p.m. in the Reeves family plot at Coalville Methodist Church, Coalville, MS of which his great grandfather was a founder, along with five generations of his family including Valentin Richard.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to TheFirst Methodist Church of Gulfport at 2301 15th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501.
