Hugh Sherer Scully, 67, of Long Beach, beloved husband of Sandy Scully, died from injuries received during his favorite past time of riding his Goldwing motorcyle in the Smokies. He was born in Dillon, Montana on December 13, 1938 and moved to the Coast in the 1950's. Sherry was owner of Agur Realty Company and past co-owner of Worth Motor Lodge. He was a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club, Mississippi Board of Realtors, Goldwing Motorcyle Club, and St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Gulfport. Sherry was in the Navy and served on the USS Norfolk during the Korean War Conflict. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and was a member of Kappa Sigma.
Mr. Scully was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh J. Scully and Mary Louise Scully, his brother, William James Scully, and his brother-in-law, Van Alford.
Survivors include his wife,
Sandy Scully, his children, Tammy Gergen and her husband, Chris, Shea Scully and his wife, Mavis, his stepson, Eric Smith and his wife, Summer, four sisters, Mary Lou Klotzman and her husband, Melvin, Cissy Alford, Janie Canfield and her husband, Jeff, and Susan Atkinson and her husband, Rea, one brother, Tommy Scully and his wife, Ellen, sister-in-law, Toni Scully Ladner and her husband, Freddie, sister-in-law, Barbara McDowell, brother-in-law, Steve Worley and his wife, Lisa, his former spouse, Virginia Wilson Scully, five grandchildren, Israel Gergen, Joseph Scully, Morgan Gergen, Guinevere Scully, and Mason Grace Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sherry will always be remembered by all for his sense of humor and top hat. His humor and laughter will be sadly missed by all.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit two hours before the service.
