I. Irene Brooks

Mrs. I. Irene Franklin Hanson Brooks, 85, of D'Iberville, MS, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 9, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Brooks was born July 11, 1925 in Crossroads, Texas and had been a resident of D'Iberville for the past twelve years. She was a loving mother to her family, very caring to her dear friends, and known to all as "Granny". Mrs. Brooks is preceded in death by three sons, Larry Noble, Alton Roy and Harvey Joe Hanson. She is survived by a daughter, Alta Ray and her husband, James, of Liberty City, TX; two sons, Travis Hanson and his wife, Karen, of D'Iberville; and Thomas Hanson and his wife, Michelle, of Lewisville, TX; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Granny Irene will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to offer special thanks to the First Baptist Church of Biloxi Homebound Ministries, Toni Richard, Southern Care Hospice, Susan Falkenberg and Joann Lizana, care givers, and the 5th and 6th floor staff at Biloxi Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time.
