Ida Owen

Mrs. Ida Lou Owen, age 77, of Gautier, MS., died Saturday, November 19, 2005, in Ocean Springs, MS. Mrs. Owen was a resident of the community for 34 years. She was employed as a bookkeeper for fifteen years with Delta Trousers in Okalona, MS., and was a former member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. Mrs. Owen was a homemaker and loved pets, plants, and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ostrea Phifer. She is survived by a daughter, Lynn McGarvey and husband, Rick, of Gautier, MS., son, Kerry Owen and wife, Cynthia, of Raymond, MS., two sisters, Edna Sue Peake of Mobile, AL., and Mary Emma Byrd of Vestavia Hills, AL., brother, Carl Phifer of Fort Worth, TX., nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, from 5-7 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
