Mrs. Idell B. Shavers of Saucier, MS, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007, in Wiggins. Mrs. Shavers was a lifelong resident of Saucier and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Saucier. She was a member of the Order of The Easter Star, Perkinston Lodge, and the Joppa Shriner's Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Shavers was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. David Leon Shavers, Sr., of Saucier, Sr., a daughter, Judith Ann Shavers and two great grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Janet (George "Rocky") Meaut of Biloxi and Patricia (Dan) Ponder of Cullman, AL; three sons, David (Barbara) Shavers and Mark Shavers all of Saucier and John E. (Angela Liberto) Shavers of Biloxi; two sisters, Ms Mary Estell Anderson of Saucier and Mrs. Patsy Bates (Dan) Davis of Wiggins; two brothers, Jack (Pat) Bates of Wiggins and William Bates of Jackson; twelve grandchildren, Larry Smith of Woolmarket, Timmy Smith of Biloxi, Kevin (Kristy) Shavers of Wiggins, Julie (Timmy) Paige of Saucier, Jane (Johnny) Barber of Purvis, Michelle (Pat) Ladner of Saucier, Scot (Fran) Ponder and Laura Ponder of Cullman, AL, Sean Shavers and Zachary Shavers both of Saucier, Ariana Shavers of Biloxi and John Anthony Shavers of Wiggins; twenty one great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Visitation is Monday, September 17, 2007, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, in Gulfport. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Saucier Cemetery.
