Ilene B. Wright

Ilene B. Wright, of Ocean Springs, MS, and formerly of Titusville, FL, entered into eternal life on September 16, 2023. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Susie Caldwell and Irvin Barron; siblings, Mildred Smallwood, James Barron, and Dilliard Barron; children, Cynthia Zorn and Michael Wright; and her beloved husband, James J. Wright.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Wright; grandchildren, Stacie Zorn (Tristan Armer), George Zorn (Laney), and Sara Wright; great grandchildren, Canon and Townes Armer, and Trey Zorn; and sister, Sylvia Pettis

She had many jobs, but she was the most accomplished at being a homemaker and caretaker.  Affectionately known as Gran by many, she was the sweetest, most amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, always greeting you with a compliment, a smile, and something to eat. She was a great cook, magically making each dish taste like the best thing you’ve ever eaten using minimal ingredients but a lot of love.  She was fun-loving, always up for a card game, a visit with family and friends, or a walk on any nature trail, and tender hearted, showing her love with many acts of kindness, including the world’s best back scratches. 

She will be sadly missed, but our family rejoices that she is in the arms of our Lord and Savior and reunited with her family who has gone before her.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30pm on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
