Ima Coy Moore Tanner

Ima Coy Moore Tanner, 85, of Vancleave, MS passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 in Ocean Springs.

Mrs. Tanner was born on November 5, 1937 in Little Rock, MS to Loyd Lee and Hattie Mae Keen Moore. She graduated from Vancleave High School and attended college at MGCCC for business. Although she worked a few places, her most loved career was at Kmart in management in customer service. Mrs. Tanner loved to play her piano and sing to and along with family, especially at church and on the holidays. Her love for floral arranging made it easy to make beautiful arrangements for her church and friends as gifts. Mrs. Tanner always dressed to impress and she put a smile on everyone’s face.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Elbert Tanner; her parents, Loyd Lee and Hattie Mae Keen Moore; her siblings, Erma “Tootsie” Moore and Leonard Moore.

Mrs. Tanner’s survivors include her children, Sandra Tanner (Greg) Norris and Eric (Maria) Tanner; her grandchildren, Jaclyn Norris (Alex) Santillan, Scott (Brittany) Tanner, Christopher Tanner and Caydence “Lil Bit” Tanner; her great-granddaughters, Brayleigh and Kamryn Tanner; and her siblings, W.L. “Joe” Moore and Linda Gail Moore Herrington.

Visitation will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Porter Avenue in Ocean Springs on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Skylark Baptist Church, 3921 Beasley Drive in Gautier, MS on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
