Mrs. India Felsher, 97, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Biloxi Community Living Center where she had been a resident for nearly six years. She was born in Handsboro and remained a lifelong resident of the coast. India was a longtime active member of Biloxi First United Methodist Church and served on the staff of the Gulf Coast Carnival Association for several years. She also served as a volunteer with the American Red Cross and at Biloxi Regional Medical center.
India was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Bennett and India Adair Bennett; sisters, Olivia, Effie, Margie and Billie; and brothers, George, Walter and Clanton. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Lee (Charles) Moniot; son, Edwin Harley (Carolyn) Felsher, Jr.; four grandchildren Carrie Felsher, Charles Edwin Felsher, Leigh Anne Yarborough and Charles Edwin Moniot; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Emma Hanna and Floy Bennett.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 23, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
