Inez Martinez-Pitalo

Mrs. Inez Martinez Pitalo, age 86, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Saturday, December 15, 2007, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Pitalo was a native of Gary, Indiana, and a former longtime resident of Buffalo, New York. She was a coast resident since 1948 and was formerly employed with the American Chemical Society in Washington, D.C. She was also a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Mrs. Pitalo was preceded in death by her parents, Anita and Filibroto Martinez; stepfather, Liberato Rodriguez and a great-grandson, Shane Hawkins, Jr. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Mark J. Pitalo, a daughter,Judith Pitalo Peebles, both of Ocean Springs, MS., a son, Phillip (Karen) Pitalo of Dallas, TX., three sisters, Evelyn (Jack) Keiffer, Helen Debo and Anita (Robert) Monaco, two brothers, Tony Martinez and Charles (Sophie) Rodriguez, four granddaughters, Alison (Doug) Saucier, Angela (Shane) Hawkins, Carissa Pitalo and Caitlin Pitalo, and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon, with a 12 Noon Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
