Inez Marie Hoda Rudloff, age 85, passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, May 16, 2019. She was born February 18, 1934 in Gulfport, Mississippi
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Aloysius “Rudy” Rudloff on November 3, 2011; daughter, Gail Frances Rudloff Nichols; her parents Leander and Clorina Mary Quevas Hoda Kates; her maternal grandparents Cevilan V. and Rosina Mary Ladner Quevas; and her paternal grandparents Olease and Corine Necaise Hoda.
She married the love of her life and husband of 59 years, Rudy Rudloff, on February 9, 1952. He was born in Manhattan, New York and was orphaned at age three, having never been adopted. He joined the U. S. Air Force at age 17 and was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base where he and Inez met at an USO dance.
Rudy and Inez had four children and he finally had the family he had dreamed of having. As a military family they moved to various places. They lived in Topeka, Kansas, Altus, Oklahoma, Spangdalem and Wiesbaden, Germany and Biloxi, Mississippi. At each place, Inez loved making a home for her family. She liked to decorate, cook, sew clothes for her children and participate in activities with the other military families. In later life she became involved in various activities centering around Mardi Gras celebrations and women’s service and social clubs.
Inez’s family and friends remember her as having a zest for life and never giving up in spite of health problems later in life. She always had a smile, a positive, sunny personality and never met a stranger. She loved her role of being Mom Inez to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved meeting new people and experiencing new adventures. At the time of her passing she was planning a new phase of life…….moving to Texas into a new house near a daughter and son-in-law.
Inez is survived by one sister, Mary Emile and her children, Sandy, Sharon, George, Connie, Wayne, and Cindy and their families. She is also survived one son and his wife, Richard and Dee Rudloff of Aledo, Texas; two daughters and their husbands, Karen Ann and Glen Parker of Lizana, Mississippi, and Linda Marie and Toby Thompson of Cleburne, Texas.
