Mrs. Inez King was born on July 23, 1932, in Biloxi, MS, and on February 12, 2013, was called back to her Heavenly home. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church since the formation of the Parish in 1953 and was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Biloxi.
Inez and her late husband, Pat, devoted their life to music. As a teenager, she played the drums in the Sacred Heart Marching Band and sang at various venues including the White House Hotel. Although health issues forced her to stop performing, she would frequent rehearsals of “Gloria and the Playmates" for which Pat played the saxophone. The Playmates performed at the Broadwater Hotel for 30 years. Known to most as MawMaw, Inez was a compassionate, selfless woman who never met a stranger. She opened her home to all and treated everyone as if they were her own.
She is preceded in death by her parents Neuville and Elodie Blanchard Guidry; husband, Patrick H. King; three brothers, Collins, Alan and William Guidry; and one sister, Isabelle Guidry.
