Iris Guice

Mrs. Gwen Guice, of Biloxi, MS, died Saturday, February 23, 2008, in Gulfport. Mrs. Guice was a native and lifelong resident of the coast. She worked as a waitress at Beuna Vista for several years and moved on to the Fisherman's Wharf in Biloxi. She remained there for almost 17 years and made many friends and lasting relationships. She was the best wife that a husband could have, the best and giving mother any child could ever have wanted or needed, and the maw maw that loved her grandchildren more than life. She loved seeing them, playing with them, and just simply being around them. She was not only our mom, but our very good friend. She was so very sick and unhealthy for so long. We are thankful God finally called on her to be with him and all of our loved ones. Now may she rest in peace. Mrs. Guice was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Rookie" Guice, Jr.; her son, Sean Guice; brother, Troy Davis; mother-in-law, Theresa Guice; sister-in-law, Phyllis Davis; and the many loved ones she will be blessed with again. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Poulos and her husband, Danny; and their children, Chance and Colbi Lynn; her son, Shea Guice and his daughter, Ashleigh; brother, Wayne Davis; nieces, Kirsten Wallis and her husband, Jerry, and their daughter, Taylor, and Kellye Weinhoffer and her husband, Dan, and their son, Cohen; her nephew, Brent Davis, as well as many other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Ave., in Biloxi where friends may visit from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
