J. W. Phillips, 73, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in Ocean Springs after a prolonged illness.
J.W. was a retired self-employed brick mason and a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was born on March 18, 1935 in Biloxi and moved to Vancleave in 1975.
Survivors include his spouse of 56 years, Jaunita Krohn Phillips; three daughters, Karen Webb and spouse, Michael of Vancleave, Rhonda Rushing and spouse, Randall of Vancleave and Angela Peltier and spouse, Brian of Wasilla, Alaska; a son, John Wilson Phillips and spouse, Melissa of Vancleave; nine grandchildren, Raina Rushing-Collinet and spouse, Justin, Michael J. Webb, Patrick Webb and spouse, Tiffany, Randall Rushing II, Dara and Danielle Peltier, Johnnie, Dustin and Camryn Phillips; and four great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Makayla Webb, and Zachary and Caroline Webb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wilson and Lucy Lee Simmons Phillips; one daughter, Valerie Renee Phillips and seventeen siblings.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Northside Assembly of God Church on LeMoyne Boulevard in St. Martin.
